As a quick recap, the overarching concepts covered so far include:

  • The development of chronic illness

  • The role of trauma in creating stress maladaptation

  • Foundational pillars of building wellness: mindset, circadian rhythm, and shutting off the chronic cell danger response switch

  • Why nervous system regulation is a critical component to recovery

You can find all previous videos within this series HERE.

This said, if you’ve been following along, I wonder if by now you've begun to recognize why a trauma-informed, transformational coaching approach is so critical to helping people recover from chronic health issues.

Now that I know what I know about the nervous system and stress response maladaptation, I now understand that this was a large part of why I stayed sick for so long despite HUGE efforts to get well.

I see this same phenomenon in many clients that come my way.

So, for your wellness journey and your ability to help your clients achieve optimal physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing, I feel it essential to have a solid understanding of the ANS and support it properly. This is essential to help break out of a maladaptive stress response that has already developed or help ensure that the body and mind don’t become hardwired for a continued stress-pain-illness cycle.

It’s now time to take a closer look at nervous system regulation, which is the 4th and largest module in the full Wellness Code Training Program.

In the words of a current training participant:

“This module alone is worth the program! Wow, there is so much in here. It’s all so helpful, thank you!” -Andrea Ayers

Watch today’s video to learn about the following:

  • An overview of the autonomic nervous system

  • How the ANS becomes dysfunctional

  • A nervous system self-assessment

  • How stress maladaptation leads to limbic system trauma loop patterns

  • Positive and negative neuroplasticity

  • The five steps for resetting the nervous system and rewiring the brain for wellness
